About the paper and the lines

Halloween Coffee Houses is book 3 of the Seasonal Coffee Houses series: the road trip on Halloween night, with jack-o’-lanterns on the steps, bats across the moon, cobwebs on the porches and trick-or-treaters stopping in for cocoa. The stops include a train depot, a Vermont sugarhouse, a pottery studio, an old firehouse, a cider mill and a moonlit cabin at the end of the trail.

Every design sits on its own page with a blank back, so bleed-through from a marker lands on nothing you meant to color. The pages are 8.5 x 11 inch white paper, and the line art is fine and detailed: it suits colored pencils, fine-tip markers and gel pens better than crayons.

A road-trip map at the front marks all twelve regions from north Georgia to western Maine, and each page is captioned with the cafe’s name and where it sits along the mountains. There is a test-your-colors page at the front for trying a palette before you start.
